We Conveyed Our Innovative Ideas in Long Term Care Services to Collaboration
The project proposal, which envisages social economy tools in long-term care practices, was submitted to the EU Commission in September 2019 under the EU Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI).
Within the scope of VP / 2019/003 Call for National Reforms in Social Innovation and Long Term Care under EaSI / Progress Axis, Co:K has collaborated with Izmit Municipality, Kocaeli Governorship, Kocaeli University, Kocaeli Bar Association, Association of Social Workers, and Turkish Medical Association Kocaeli Branch from Turkey and Marconi University from Italy. The project proposal developed by the partners, among which Izmit Municipality is the main applicant, aims to provide long-term care services tailored to individuals’ needs. The project first maps the local needs and potential in Izmit district in terms of supply and demand in long-term care services. Based on the mapping study, it designs training and cooperation opportunities that will reinforce the institutional capacity of local stakeholders in long-term care services and the qualifications of professionals. The care services carried out by the municipality are developed in line with the psycho-social needs of individuals. With social economy initiatives, intervention tools are designed to organise care services in a human-oriented, sustainable and accessible manner. Project outcomes are expected to offer model services to national social policy practices in long-term care.
